A Gout Diet

A gout diet is basically good for people who are obese and need to trim down to be healthy. A form of arthritis that occurs in parts of the body that is cooler than other parts, gout usually affects the feet or the toes. The visible symptoms include redness and swelling accompanied by acute pain which is caused by crystal deposits that are shaped like needles. The deposits are a result of disproportionate quantity of uric acid in the bloodstream. So with the help of a gout diet, the extra water content in the body can be flushed out. In such cases alcohol should be totally avoided and a diet with low purine content must be consumed. A normal gout diet includes medium purine foods consumed moderately and low purine foods consumed in abundance. A good and healthy gout diet usually includes an abundance of low fiber breads, cereals, low purine vegetables and fruits and a moderate amount of meats and fish. A gout diet is similar to a Candida diet in which you need to avoid foods that are sugary, alcoholic and stimulants like coffee. This is also similar to the BRAT diet which is used as a treatment for gastrointestinal diseases.
